CMATC held the opening ceremony of the Second International Training Course on Regional Climate Pred

In the morning of October 15, 2013, CMATC (WMO RTC Beijing) held the opening ceremony of the Second International Training Course on Regional Climate Prediction and Drought Monitoring. All students and related teachers attended the ceremony. 


The composition of the 44 participants were from Malaysia(1), Pakistan(1), Kenya(1), Zimbabwe(1), Curaçao and Sint Maarten(1), Hungary(1), Malawi(1), Egypt(2), Barbados(1), Yemen(1), Iran(1), Rwanda(1), Namibia(1), Indonesia(1), Botswana(1), Ukraine(1), Mongolia(1), Cambodia(2), and 24 Chinese students. WMO provides round airfare support for five international students.

This duration  for the training is 11 days, experts from the University of Colorado, Chinese Academy of Sciences, CMA National Climate Center and CMATC will share beneficial experiences on climate prediction and drought monitoring. In addition, Chair of Commission for  Agricultural Meteorology, Dr. Byong-Lyol LEE from Korea National Agricultural Meteorological Center director will also give lectures on related topics.

Mr. Wang Bangzhong, Deputy Director-General of CMATC, welcomed all students who participate in this training and lectured on“CMA education and training”.
 
The training course will be closed on October 25, 2013.
